Steven Wilson earns third career eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series title in 2026 campaign

Parker White gets a full circle moment, scores Homestead-Miami win in “last planned race”

For the third time in the last four seasons, and also for the second-straight, Steven Wilson and Spire Motorsports are on top of the eNASCAR world.

The conclusion to the 2026 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series season once again took to the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway on Tuesday night, and for the fifth time, the four Championship 4 finalists took to the stage of the NASCAR Hall of Fame and raced for the $100,000 check and the Dale Earnhardt Jr Cup in front of fans, friends, family, and many from the motorsports industry.

From the fourth starting spot, Wilson played the perfect race, taking the lead of the championship from Connor Yeroschak—Steve Letarte’s driver over at Letarte Esports—who started on the pole position in his first Championship 4 Finale appearance. The race would go to double eNASCAR Overtime with all four of the Championship 4, including Bobby Zalenski, representing Jesse Iwuji’s ERA eSports Team, and Wyatt Tinsley for the Kansas City Pioneers, all inside of the top-10 with two laps to decide it.

Wilson didn’t have to win the race, and sure enough, that honor went to Williams F1 Team Gaming’s Parker White, who announced in his post-race interview that he would be stepping away from the series, and that the Williams F1 Team, the 2024 Team Champions, would also be stepping away from the sim racing scene post-Homestead-Miami. Wilson had to fend off Yeroschak and his backend teammate, Quentin Warman (Hyak Motorsports), in those final two laps. Wilson finished second, Yeroschak was fourth, Zalenski ended up fifth, and Tinsley wound up in eighth.

Two seasons ago, Wilson had a title in his grasp, ultimately losing in eNASCAR Overtime to White. “I couldn’t let a caution beat me again,” said Wilson moments after rising from his rig on stage. “That 2024 race is still haunting me to this day. I lost to Parker again this time, but he wasn’t in the top-four. He helped me a lot. He’s my setup teammate, and he didn’t owe me one. He was mad at me earlier this year for what I did to him, but he helped me a lot, helped me on the restarts… we cleared, we got away, and set sail those last couple of laps.”

Now with a third title to his name, only a few records remain to be broken by the Iowa Hawkeye. One of those is the total number of championships record currently held by Ray Alfalla. Both Alfalla and Wilson have the honor of being back-to-back champions now, Ray getting his in 2011 and 2012, and now Wilson getting his in 2025 and 2026. “He never won three-in-a-row, so let’s go do it,” Wilson remarked about chasing that record.

The race went eight laps past the scheduled distance thanks to the two eNASCAR Overtimes. In total, there were three cautions for nine laps, the first one of which came with seven laps to go in the scheduled regulation distance. Wilson might not have won the race, but he did lead the most laps, just by a single lap over White, at 42. Now, the only thing Wilson needs to figure out in this 2026 season is where he’s going to display a third Dale Earnhardt Jr Cup.

BIG NASCAR NAMES IN THE CROWD

One of the cooler aspects of hosting a championship in the center of NASCAR country is that many NASCAR stars will make the effort to show up and see what the virtual counterpart is about. 23XI’s Bubba Wallace was in attendance to give the command to fire the virtual engines. Hyak Motorsports’ Ricky Stenhouse Jr stopped in to chat. JR Motorsports’ Rajah Caruth sat front row near Zalenski’s setup. The Truck Series winner from the Charlotte race weekend, Layne Riggs (Front Row Motorsports) stopped in earlier to chat on the Collegiate Esports Panel pre-race.

Viking Motorsports’ Parker Retzlaff, a former eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series competitor, was there to experience the event, as was Young’s Motorsports’ Brad Perez, who frequents the championship race almost every year. NASCAR Analyst and legendary crew chief Steve Letarte was not only there to see the show like he does every year, but was supporting his driver, Connor Yeroschak, in his first championship appearance.

There were more past eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series competitors in the field, including former winner in the series, Briar LaPradd—a licensed photographer at the real track now for multiple teams in the garage, and a former champion of the series, Keegan Leahy, who moved down to North Carolina to work with 23XI following his Coke Series career.

CHAMPIONSHIP DRAMA FROM THE GET-GO

As the Countdown to Green pre-race show was ongoing live on the other side of the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s foyer, the four Championship contenders took to their rigs to set down qualifying laps.

Yeroschak managed to put it on the pole for the second-straight race, a fantastic sign for his chances at the title right away. Wilson managed to qualify in fourth, with White and Team Dillon’s Blaze Crawford splitting the two title contenders on the grid. Tinsley, whose average qualifying position this year was 20th, started in 20th.

The big surprise came from the ERA camp and the No. 22 NEX Chevrolet of Zalenski. Off of Turn 4 on his qualifying lap, Zalenski just barely brushed the wall coming to the checkers. The hit was hard enough to incur a 0x incident, which invalidates the lap. That put the Championship 4 competitor 39th on the grid in the 100 lap sprint to the title.

After a brief hold for some potential issues arising from Tinsley’s rig on the stage, the race finally took the green flag with Yeroschak and White on the front row. White timed it perfectly, with help from Wilson right behind, and as the field fanned out into Turn 1 for the first time, Yeroschak was on the disadvantaged line.

White took control and brought Wilson through to second as Yeroschak slipped back into the clutches of the field. Yeroschak continued to slip back as more and more Norse Force Racing backend teammates, like Crawford and Williams F1 Team Gaming’s Donovan Strauss also got by. Casey Kirwan (Kansas City Pioneers) was up next, and that’s when Yeroschak’s title hopes almost disappeared.

Getting pinched on the bottom, Yeroschak got loose and slid up into Kirwan and Sebastian Marin (Kanaan Esports). Thankfully, nobody got destroyed, and everyone was able to continue onward. The issue for Yeroschak was that he was now back in sixth, and if last year was any indication, this race could go long and green, even all the way to the end, which would make a huge mountain to climb.

Speaking of mountains to climb, both Tinsley and Zalenski were doing their best to carve their way forward. Their championship hopes weren’t completely dashed, but they would need some intervention of a caution or bad luck to the two ahead of them to get back into it.

Up front, Dylan Duval (Channel 199 Sim Racing), in what he also says is his final start of his career, passed White for the lead at lap 13 after starting in 13th. Perhaps it was just a push to lead some laps in his last race, but he led 12 of them before the aggravated tires began to falter, and White was back in control at Lap 25.

Wilson, meanwhile, was biding his time. Again, the win was not needed, but it couldn’t hurt to try, just in case any late race shenaniganry was afoot. Lap 42 is when Wilson made his move to the lead, and just a few laps later, the pit cycle began.

Yeroschak was the first of the four to bite, hoping the undercut would gain some time. Wilson covered it off, however, pitting the next time by and retaining the cycle lead. Both Tinsley and Zalenski ran it longer, hoping for an overcut to work in their favor, but again, they were so far back that some sort of regrouping of the field would be their best shot at getting back in contention.

Wilson recycled to the point after Dylan Basen (RFK Racing) finally decided to pit after nine laps of leading. Yeroschak was in third, separated only by White in second. Tinsley had made his move up to the top-10, while Zalenski was battling around the top-15.

Suddenly, a caution with seven laps to go, and it involved one of the Championship 4.

ENASCAR OVERTIME TO END A WILD 2026 SEASON

Off of Turn 2 with seven laps to go, Tinsley got tight and smacked the wall, bouncing down into the path of fgrAccel eRacing’s Seth DeMerchant. The damage was minimal, if anything, and the race for the title was back on.

The majority of the field pitted, with a few drivers, including BS+Competition’s Jordy Lopez, staying out and praying for a miracle. Lopez came into the night under the relegation cut line, and this was a last ditch effort to race back above that line. Basen and JR Motorsports’ Malik Ray also stayed out, pinning Wilson in fourth, White in fifth, and Yeroschak in sixth.

On the restart with three laps to go, the field fanned out once more, with White cutting through the slower cars that didn’t pit better than the rest. Wilson managed to also make it through, as did Yeroschak. Another caution, however, and the race was heading into eNASCAR Overtime once more.

The first attempt was almost an immediate failure, as Strauss and Warman made contact, involving Hyak Motorsports’ Dylan Ault and more in the fray. That set the stage for a second attempt at eNASCAR Overtime, and this would be the one for all of the marbles.

On the restart, White got away, but because of his great jump, Yeroschak managed to get to the inside of Wilson entering Turn 1. The two leaned on one another respectfully, neither wanting to back down, but both trying to keep it clean. They managed to do so, but Yeroschak lost time to Wilson, and also lost another spot to Warman.

White took the white flag, and that made the race official. Wilson only had to worry about potential payback from Warman after the two made contact three weeks ago at Kansas, but again, the race stayed clean for the title fight. Yeroschak was stuck in fourth. Zalenski, with a battered and bruised Chevrolet, fought up to finish fifth. Tinsley, following that earlier spin, recovered to eighth.

But, it was all Steven Wilson, claiming the championship by finishing in second behind his winning back-end teammate Parker White.

You can officially call Wilson “3-Time”.

Leaving Homestead-Miami Speedway, Spire Motorsports not only claims the Driver’s Championship with Wilson, but also becomes the first team with multiple Team Championships, doing it back-to-back with the same crew of Wilson and Femi Olatunbosun again in 2026.

Shawn Conklin (RFK Racing) locked up the Rookie of the Year title three weeks ago at Kansas, and ultimately finishes 21 points ahead of Sebastian Marin for that honor. Matthew Morton (TC Esports) was the third rookie that also will be locked into next year’s Free Agency, finishing 17th in the standings.

Behind that, the two Rick Ware Racing drivers of Daniel Faulkingham and Garrett Manes managed to keep their spots inside the top-20 and will also be back in Free Agency again next season.

Thanks for following along with us all year, and we’ll catch you in 2027 for the 18th season of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Championship Series!
