2026-27 eNASCAR College iRacing Series | Queen City Crown at Charlotte | Week 1 Recap

100 students entered the first week of the Queen City Crown—the second Tournament of the 2026-27 eNASCAR College iRacing Series presented by Logitech G—at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Wednesday night. After two groups took on the Quarterfinal Round and Semifinal Round, only 40 students remain with a chance to win the Final Round and the overall Tournament.

In Group 1, the winner of the opening Tournament of the season—Tarrant County College District’s Jacob Wilkerson—held off a charge from Triton College’s Adam Garza and Arizona State University’s Bradley Erickson to claim the Semifinal victory. Over in Group 2, DeSales University’s Brian Mercurio was victorious in the Semifinal over the University of Calgary’s Connor Yeroschak and St Johns River State College’s AJ Heider.

Many usual suspects, such as Dylan Ault (Sacramento State), Daniel Nanney (Ball State), Connor Trifari (UNC Charlotte), Zach Sprouse (George Mason), Timmy Holmes (Horry-Georgetown), Nick Luetje (Purdue Indy), Abraham Vela (Houston), Tyler Skoczen (UNOH), and Jake Cummings (now at Western Carolina University) have transferred over to the Final Round.

A total of 32 schools will be represented in the Week 2 Final Round. Four of those schools will have multiple drivers, with Ball State University, Belmont Abbey College, and Bowling Green State University all sending two students to the Final Round. The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, the School Championship leader entering Tournament 2, once again has the most in the Final Round, sending six of their 18 from the Quarterfinals forward.

Besides those four, another nine will be eligible to score points for the School Championship this week. Two schools that scored points in the last Tournament, Arizona State and Calgary, did not meet the criteria in this Tournament and will not be able to score School points.

The other nine schools that can score points are Austin Peay State University, California State University-Sacramento, Central Connecticut State University, Eastern Shore Community College, Kettering University, Liberty University, Purdue University in Indianapolis, Tarrant County College District, and the University of Northwestern Ohio.

Augusta University, Bismarck State College, Central Connecticut State University, George Mason University, High Point University, Merrimack College, the University of Northwestern Ohio, Western Carolina University, and Wilson Community College are all qualified for their first Final Round of the 2026-27 season. All of the other schools were represented, or had qualified for the Peachtree Pursuit Final Round.

A new feature in the 2026-27 season is that Week 1 of the two-week format will offer points. In both groups, the top-10 were awarded points for their finishing spot in the Semifinals. It is worth noting, for any reason those points-earning drivers don’t show up for Week 2 and the Final Round, these Semifinal points are forfeited. Wilkerson will add 10 points to his lead, while Mercurio will keep the same gap entering Week 2 by also claiming 10 points.

There were some notable names to miss the second Tournament’s Final Round. Jonathan Evans (Western Connecticut State University) finished third in the Peachtree Pursuit, but failed to transfer this time around. Same goes for Layne Graves (Wichita State) who left EchoPark fifth in the standings. Their seasons aren’t over yet, but they will be at a disadvantage as the series partners with IMSA for the third Tournament, the Big Apple Battle, later this month at Watkins Glen.

Next week, the Queen City Crown will conclude with the Final Round—a 100 lap race with all 40 trucks on track—at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The winner of the race will earn 55 points, while second will get 35, each place after that going down by a single point until it becomes a single point, reminiscent of the current day NASCAR points system. The Tournament winner will collect $3,000 and be one step closer to fighting for the ultimate prize of $10,000 for winning the championship later in the Spring semester.

Tune in on Wednesday, October 14th, at 7:00 p.m. ET for the conclusion to the Tournament. Join us 15 minutes prior for the Countdown to Green. The event will be streamed live at eNASCAR.com/live and across all of iRacing’s social media channels.
