RISE eSPORTS RACE ADVANCE: LAS VEGAS

Mullis and Novak seeking rebound in the desert after hard luck at Talladega.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 2, 2023) – After hard luck befell Jimmy Mullis and Zack Novak at Talladega, Rise eSports looks for a rebound performance in a place where good luck can make more of a difference than most when the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway tonight. Both drivers have two top tens in six career starts at the desert mile-and-a-half, with Zack finishing 10th in 2018 and runner-up in 2019, and Jimmy finishing ninth in 2019 and winning the race in 2020. The race broadcast starts at 8:30 p.m. ET. All eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series events are streamed live at eNASCAR.com/Live and Twitch.tv/iRacing.

JIMMY MULLIS: NO. 46 VEGAS LIGHTS AND LUCK CHEVROLET CAMARO

Jimmy Mullis’ No. 46 Sunoco Chevrolet Camaro will carry two of Las Vegas’ greatest icons when the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series visits Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 2. On the hood of the car are lights reminiscent of the Las Vegas strip – even the Sunoco logo on the hood is surrounded in lights, much like the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. From the A-Post back, it’s all about Las Vegas’ casino scene, from which the city originally gained its fame. Casino chips and four aces adorn the sides of the car, while underneath them is a green felt finish not unlike what can be found on most of the card tables throughout the city.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin was one of the best drivers throughout the 1990s, but his 1998 season stands alone as his very best. Mark won seven points races that season and took home the victory in the All-Star Race. He paired that with 22 top-fives and 26 top-10s, all of which were single-season career highs for the Batesville, Arkansas native. His first victory of the season came in the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 1. Mark had a strong car all race long, and fended off a charge from teammate Jeff Burton in the race’s final green flag run to earn his 23rd career NASCAR Cup Series win. Between Mark’s seven wins and Jeff Gordon’s 13 wins in 1998, the two drivers combined to win nearly two-thirds of the entire season – a NASCAR record that still stands today, and may be one of the few records even more untouchable than Richard Petty’s 200 career victories.
