Luza’s back behind the (real) wheel
eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series standout Ryan Luza is not only an exceptional sim racer, but he’s also a heck of a real-world late model driver.
Luza planned to return to the driver’s seat of a late model last weekend at New Smyrna Speedway …
Really excited to get back into a Late Model this weekend at @newsmyrnaspdwy! Practicing tomorrow and racing Saturday night!
I’ve turned tons of laps here on @iRacing over the years so I’m sure we’ll be quick the first time out at New Smyrna even though they’ll be my first laps! pic.twitter.com/YAojP1ehhI

… but Mother Nature had other plans.
We regret to inform you that the races for Saturday, September 19th have been cancelled due to the large amount of rain expected throughput the day. We will be back in action 9/26/2020, we hope to see you all then. pic.twitter.com/pJV12TVqii

Guess it’s back to turning virtual practice laps for the 2017 Coca-Cola iRacing Series champion — in between nice-weather, real-world practice runs, of course.
Video is Ryans 3rd time out. He is in the 15 car. They did not put on new tires today. Car in front on a 2 lap tire.
He was “super fast” his first time on the track (Crew chief Dustin Skinners words!)
2nd time out ran a 18.45 on a 50 lap tire w/ 8 heat cycles. pic.twitter.com/6LzrivL7Eo— John Luza Jr(Crew Chiefed 125+wins,10National Wins (@jr_luza) September 19, 2020

Daly vs. Pastrana
Racers Conor Daly and Travis Pastrana don’t compete in NASCAR often, but a friendly iRacing rivalry is about to escalate to the real track Friday in the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race from Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The pair will race as teammates for Niece Motorsports, so they’ll have to keep it more friendly than rivalry.
A showdown in Vegas! 🥊@TravisPastrana and @ConorDaly22 are bringing their iRacing rivalry to the @NASCAR_Trucks!
Catch the boys in action Friday at 9pm ET on FS1! pic.twitter.com/Ltgj2eppwq

Have I done a single lap in a @NASCAR_Trucks truck? Nope. First laps ever will be in race? Yep. Sounds about right! Goals: beat @TravisPastrana 😜To think this whole friendship and idea of taking our #LCQLeague to real life started on @iRacing is pretty incredible! #TruckRacers pic.twitter.com/Kz0WejQop5

TJ Majors wins Off Axis Paint 500
Last week, a group of industry figures competed in an iRacing exhibition race, the Off Axis Paint 500, using iRacing’s street stocks at the brand-new Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Spotter TJ Majors took home the checkered flag.
Successful #OffAxis500 tonight! Congrats to @Tjmajors on grabbing the W 👊

Tonight: Coca-Cola iRacing Series at Las Vegas
Just two races remain in the regular season for the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series. Tonight marks the final trip to (relative) sanity (maybe): Las Vegas Motor Speedway — then, it’s off to Talladega, but that’s a discussion for next week.
The 2017 series champ Ryan Luza has won the last three Vegas races, but he’s facing a months-long winless drought. Meanwhile, the battle for the final playoff spot remains hot, with Ray Alfalla holding a 20-point lead over Brad Davies. We break down who to watch in this week’s Power Rankings.
Catch the action from Las Vegas tonight (Sept. 22) at 9 ET on https://enascar.com/live.
iRacing paint scheme of the week
With the exciting announcement of Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin teaming up to field a new team with Bubba Wallace for 2021, we couldn’t help but think what such a car might look like. Perhaps we don’t have to look much further than Casey Kirwan’s Jordan-sponsored ride for Denny Hamlin Racing in the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series.
Tonight has been insane.
In the meantime, there's still a virtual @Jumpman23 car that has 6 more chances to go win this year. 6 straight weeks of racing starting tomorrow night @ Vegas. pic.twitter.com/6UNqvfzn8n

Video of the week
Sure, Bristol’s now in the rearview mirror for the NASCAR Cup Series, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy Matt DiBenedetto taking us for a ride around the Last Great Colosseum.
A special race. A special track. @mattdracing hops on our @iRacing simulator to take us for a few laps around @BMSupdates. pic.twitter.com/OgUhdTts2W
