Wide World of Esports: Kicking off the Coca-Cola Series playoffs, design Zack Novak’s ride and happy hour highlights

Tonight: Coca-Cola iRacing Series kicks off playoffs at Charlotte Roval

It’s finally time to race for the big prize.

Tonight, the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series begins its playoffs by turning left and right. The first of four playoff races takes place at 9 p.m. ET at the treacherous, 17-turn Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.

For the eight contenders, a win in a playoff race means an automatic lock into the $100,000-to-win championship race at Homestead. Regular-season champion Bobby Zalenski, who’s won five consecutive road-course races, is the favorite. Last season, Zalenski dominated the Roval to lock himself into the championship race.

Our Power Rankings break down who could give Zalenski a run for his money, but the numbers certainly side with another win on the road for the No. 83.

We have the rest of the details in our eNASCAR.com Race Preview, but the most important part is to tune in to eNASCAR.com/live tonight (Sept. 13) at 9 ET.

Sunoco Racing’s paint scheme design contest

It’s not often you get a chance to design a champion’s paint scheme, but thanks to Sunoco Racing, you have a shot to create the paint scheme that defending eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series champion Zack Novak will race in the championship finale (which, by the way, will air on NBCSN after the crowning of the NASCAR Cup Series champion on Nov. 8).

Sure looks like there are some beautiful rides up for consideration:

A special tribute for Dylan Duval

eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series veteran Dylan Duval shared the meaning of a logo that adorns his No. 41 Stewart-Haas eSports Ford during each race — it’s a tribute to his mom, whom he lost in 2014 and would have celebrated a birthday this week.

Trophy time

This Coca-Cola iRacing Series trophy is too cool. We’re jealous, Jimmy Mullis.

Rain in iRacing?

We love cryptic tweets teasing new features. And after watching two eventful NASCAR Playoff races in the rain this weekend, it would be a fun addition to iRacing.

Having fun at happy hour

Last week, NASCAR stars Joey Logano, Bubba Wallace and Daniel Suarez participated in a special one-hour virtual event to prepare for the weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, joining crew members and select eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series drivers.

The iRacing Happy Hour refreshed by Coca-Cola was a blast and made for quite a few memorable moments.

Watch the whole thing here — and we won’t spoil who ran the fastest lap of the session.

That Coca-Cola red playoff banner is a special sight, especially on a super-slick Coca-Cola Energy machine.
