Wide World of Esports: 3 billion laps on iRacing, Firecracker 400, and a red-white-and-blue Earnhardt throwback

3 billion laps on iRacing

What a milestone! The three-billionth lap was turned on iRacing last week. Let’s commemorate the achievement by counting all those laps one by one.

One, two, three, four, five, six … OK, that’s enough of that. We aren’t counting that high.

Hosted racing with Chase Elliott

The good news for Chase is that hosted racing doesn’t affect iRating or Safety Rating.

Almost, Rowdy

Even though real-life NASCAR’s back in action, Kyle Busch is still sim racing in his downtime.

Rowdy nearly won a Monday Night Racing league race that featured NASCAR drivers, crews and media members.

Nick DeGroot won the race over Busch – barely.

Cassill and Kligerman’s Firecracker 400

NASCAR racers Landon Cassill and Parker Kligerman are teaming up to organize an iRacing event using iRacing’s 1987-style cars at the old, bumpy version of Daytona International Speedway.

This week, 344 drivers will work to advance to the next round of 88 – all in search of the Firecracker 400’s $10,000 prize.

Tonight: Coca-Cola iRacing Series All-Star Race

Ready for some trucking? Tonight, the stars of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series take to North Wilkesboro Speedway for the series’ All-Star Race – using NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series-style trucks, a first for the series that typically mirrors the NASCAR Cup Series.

There are no points on the line, but there is a $500 bonus at stake for the winner of the 26-driver feature event.

Catch the Coca-Cola iRacing Series All-Star Race tonight (Tue. 6/16) at 9 p.m. ET at eNASCAR.com/live.

Thursday: Heat Pro League at Iowa

Get the corn ready! The eNASCAR Heat Pro League returns Thursday at Iowa Speedway using NASCAR Xfinity Series-style cars.

Catch the action Thursday 6/18 at 8 p.m. ET at eNASCAR.com/live.

iRacing paint scheme of the week

We’re having a lot of fun driving the new-to-us 1987 stock cars on iRacing. Albert Hoffman painted Dale Earnhardt’s patriotic 1996 Olympics paint scheme on iRacing’s ’87 Monte Carlo, and it earned a gold medal in our eyes.
