Barney the flagman makes an appearance at Darlington
We’re not sure if our eyes are playing tricks on us, but it sure looked like Barney, iRacing’s always-enthusiastic, shoulder-cartilage-tearing flagman paid a visit to the real world to wave the green flag in the NASCAR Cup Series race from Darlington Raceway.

The flagger was identified as Joey Aycock, who earned himself an iRacing VIP account.

It’s undeniable that’s Barney, right? Maybe the real world mimics the sim-racing world now. What a year 2020 has been. (I mean, @nascarcasm even has a Barney shirt.)

1987 NASCAR Cup Series cars drop next week
It’s not like we’re counting down the days or anything, but iRacing’s 1987-style NASCAR Cup Series cars are scheduled for release in next week’s Season 3 build. We’re just a little excited.
(OK, we’re really excited.)
Extending a special thank you to those who helped make the '87 project possible: @NASCAR @timclark3 @RCRracing @Wrangler @DaleJr @DirtyMoMedia @NASCARHall @CoorsLight as well as the Elliott Family and Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. pic.twitter.com/wHG0o1pTTD

Xfinity Series Rain Delay 200
When the Xfinity Series race was delayed for rain, Landon Cassill and Parker Kligerman took matters into their own hands to hold a race with real-world drivers at Darlington.
A race put together faster than Xfinity internet.

Denny Hamlin won the race with a gutsy last-lap move on Ryan Truex.
Last night we redefined Rain Delay content. With the help of some friends, @pkligerman and I created, promoted, Officiated, competed in, and broadcasted the inaugural @xfinityracing RAIN DELAY 200 Presented by @xfinity, won by @dennyhamlin with a last lap haymaker on @ryan_truex pic.twitter.com/4BdJxFFLj1

Maybe it was enough practice to propel him to Victory Lane in the NASCAR Cup Series at Darlington.
Only in 2020 will I have got my face kicked in on @iRacing in a @NASCAR_Xfinity car at Darlington at 1230am on a Tuesday night/Wednesday morning by @dennyhamlin only to see him then go on and win a real race in a 24hr period. Life is just a meme right now. #NascarIsBack

iRacing paint scheme of the week
Chase Elliott is racing this truck in tonight’s Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race at Charlotte. Technically, this sharp-looking truck is an iRacing paint scheme, so it fits the bill for our iRacing paint scheme of the week.

Video of the week
Barney the flagman has a brother? Give us this now, iRacing.
Barney is getting all the pub lately, but what if I told you the story of his brother who dreamed of becoming an openwheel star. That ended when his crew quit and he couldn't put his car together.
