William Byron goes back-to-back in Pro Invitational Series

William Byron rolled to his second straight victory Sunday in the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series, surviving heavy pressure from Timmy Hill in an overtime finish at virtual Richmond Raceway.

Byron took the lead on Lap 60 and held on the rest of the way in the Toyota Owners 150 presented by Toyota. The fourth race in the online series was a fixed-setup event with no rapid-repair car resets allotted.

Pole-starter Ryan Preece led the first 59 laps before giving way to Byron, the series’ winner at Bristol Motor Speedway. Preece’s No. 37 Chevrolet faded, then spun after contact with Matt DiBenedetto’s No. 21 Ford to force the race’s fourth caution period on Lap 99.

Those two exchanged retaliatory bumps, forcing another yellow flag and resulting in race officials parking DiBenedetto for the remainder of the event.
